Brilliant, love it. Such a strong message and I know several teenagers directly affected by the toxicity of Tik Tok. I personally don’t even do facebook so try and avoid social media all together, hence why I feel a bit out of the loop and haven’t seen you guys live for ages. I still feel very much part of the Freight Train though. I knew from that first time I saw you in The Platform Tavern in 2018 that you were something special and you looked like you’re the best. Totally deserved, you are awesome!

And I have so many stories about the fakeness of social media. The pressure and how heavy it can be.
I can start saying that I once had a mental breakdown because I wanted to be one of them. And did not know how. Basically because it means going against my true self.
Another dark story is the one of which comes with an abusive friend that was the worst manipulative aggressive person in real time and when it came to grabbing her phone to speak live to god know who-followers and posting stories… She’d turn into this spiritual guru guide, quoting every inspirational quote she could remember to get the attention and folks to give her anything she wanted.
This is the dark side of it… People like this, that sells themselves on the screen in a way they are not… If you are vulnerable you’d be able to give money, your mental and physical health… And so socials aren’t just a game to over spend time on.
It can be very dangerous on so many levels that I could speak forever.

Social media puts this pressure on you to try to prove to others that you’re worthy. As for myself, I noticed that I was trying to do that exact thing; and when I wouldn’t get a lot of likes, my self-confidence diminished. It took a long time, but I finally realized that it’s not important. It’s all a facade. I haven’t posted anything in over a year, and it’s been liberating!
